My contention that this administration's communication model is like a funnel--information pours in, but little or nothing comes out--continues to be born out. Information is power these days and Bush and co. are seeking maximum power. Marie Cocco, writing for Newsday (not exactly a bastion of leftist ideology serving Long Island), makes clear that Bush's desire to control information is unabated.

Cocco's article concerning the administration's censoring of the 9/11 investigation report is quite telling. Here's a snippet:

The recent report of the joint congressional committee that probed intelligence failures before the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon reveals what the Bush administration doesn't want Americans to know about the American government.

You would not know this from media accounts about this report. They have dwelled on what the Bush administration doesn't want us to know about the Saudi government.

The how's and why's of this behavior are explained in Cocco's article. I encourage you to read it.
