Our knowledge consists of a patchwork of statements describing reality from a variety of sources that have more or less persuasive power with us. The most credible sources for each of us typically have the most impact on what we accept as a knowledge claim. This is an abstract of the social construction of knowledge theory.

The White House seems committed to a radical version of constructionism. Apparently, they believe if those in power (not necessarily credible) simply repeat a knowledge claim, then it will be true. The link below is on the White House web page. Without apology or qualification, this page continues the mantra of WMD. Take a look at this stunning array of statements put forward by the White House as true statements while the empirical evidence denies each. Are these people crazy or do they think we are fools?
